“It’s about fairness in sports”
They cried, taking away our leisure.

“It’s about safety in bathrooms”
They cried, taking away our facilities.

“It’s about free speech”
They cried, taking away our pronouns.

“It’s about parents’ consent”
They cried, taking away youth safety.

“It’s about the gold standard in science”
They cried, taking away our medicine.

“It’s about women’s rights”
They cried, taking away our belonging.

“It’s about biological reality”
They cried, taking away our legal existence.

“It’s about DEI and wokeness”
They cried, taking away our protections.

“It’s about my existence”
I cried, as they took me away.
